Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 80g cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 250g butter, melted & divided into half
  • 120ml boiling water
  • 450g organic coconut sugar
  • 4 large egg
  • 65g plain flour
  • 50g chopped nuts(optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 200g dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
  • Stir together the cocoa powder and baking soda in a big bowl.
  • Stir in the melted half butter until smooth and stir in the boiling water until the mixture is smooth and thick.
  • Stir in the sugar and eggs with the remaining melted butter.
  • Stir in the remaining flour, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt and nuts (optional) into the chocolate mixture.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes.
